The home side continued to dominate the game, and it was no surprise when they doubled their lead in the 28th minute. Diogo Jota was on hand to tap in a rebound after a brilliant save from West Ham goalkeeper, Alphonse Areola.

West Ham fight back

The second half started much better for West Ham, and they quickly got a goal back through Antonio. The Hammers continued to mount pressure on Liverpool's defence, and they were rewarded with an equaliser in the 68th minute.

Jarrod Bowen scored from close range after a great cross from Vladimir Coufal. The momentum was now with West Ham, and they looked the more likely side to take all three points.

However, Liverpool had other ideas, and they managed to regain the lead in the 81st minute through none other than Sadio Mane.

The Senegalese forward picked up the ball just outside the box, and he unleashed a thunderbolt of a shot into the back of the net. His goal was too much for West Ham to handle, and Liverpool secured all three points.

Man of the match

The man of the match award had to go to Sadio Mane for his two fantastic goals. He was a constant threat to West Ham's defence and showed his skill and quality throughout the game.

The Premier League Table

With this victory, Liverpool move up to third place in the Premier League table, while West Ham drop down to ninth. Chelsea are still at the top of the table, followed by Manchester United in second place.

Despite the victory, Liverpool will need to continue improving if they are to challenge for the Premier League title this season. Their next match is against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday.
